Otherdata is happy to announce that we are now running MySQL version 5.5. MySQL 5.5 performance has been significantly improved over MySQL 5.1. Here are some benefits you can take advantage of as a website admin!

We would recommend converting your MySQL databases to InnoDB format to take advantage of these features. For those of you running CMS based websites such as Drupal, Wordpress or Joomla you may want to talk to your web developer about upgrading to InnoDB.

Performance - MySQL 5.5 has improvements to run better in a multi-core processing environment.

Scalability – MySQL 5.5 has enhancements that make it a more scalable database server.
